This belly lines art is my way of acknowledging the existence and the beauty of our bellies at a time when the world is trying to delete them and make them wrong and our fault, as if this body type designed to store fat primarily on the belly, in not something we inherited, something that always existed. We do not have to take on believes of others - we have free will and we can think and perceive our body shape as we like, and personally, I'm going for totally human, totally normal, totally beautiful!

"cosmos" is a piece for all of us who spent most of our lifes thinking we have huge a belly and are sooo fat, but really we have a built in filter that prevents us from seeing the beauty of our body and our lines. The backdrop for these pice was in part done by my boys.

​

"mama belly" is a representation of forever pregnent look that many of us who live in these so called "apple shape" bodies have and that elicits unwanted questions.

​

"Butterfly" is the 1st belly lines I ever painted. The idea came to me after a period of frastration about bellys not being defined as curves too. Belly lines are our curves.
